冬至是我国传统的二十四节气之一，因此冬至的英语说法比较特别。
冬至的英语是：winter solstice，“solstice”一次表示节气中的“至日”，意思为“the time of either the longest day in the year (about June 22) or the shortest day in the year (about December 22)”，专指“Winter Solstice”（冬至）以及“Summer Solstice”（夏至）。
根据中文的音译的话，“冬至”这个日子还可以翻译成“Dongzhi Festival”。
