为了丰富广大同学的课余生活，加强英语的学习与交流，提高同学们学习英语的积极性； 给广大同学提供一个自我锻炼、展示自我的舞台，我院社团联合会英语协会决定举办:“水院之星”英语演讲比赛，我们协会在得到老师和同学的支持下，于本月举行了英语演讲比赛，此次比赛主要针对全院的大一的学生。大一学生参加的积极性很高，报名人数也很多，在我院大一学生新生中有一定的影响力，比赛设有预赛和决赛，本次比赛采取“公平，公正，公开”的`比赛原则，此次活动是南湖校区与汤逊湖校区首次联谊比赛。
在比赛的前期，两个校区都在各自在本校做了许多关于对本次活动的宣传活动，鼓励各系各班的同学积极参加，预赛是两校区在各自的本部举办，南湖校区报名参赛40名。汤逊湖校区报名参赛60几名，预赛于10月31号举行，，经过一轮又一轮的角逐，在评委的公正评判下，南湖校区总共有11名参赛选手进入决赛，汤逊湖校区有19名进入决赛。决赛于11月8号下午2：00在南湖校区二楼报告厅拉开的帷幕，
决赛荣幸地邀请了英语组组长胡志红老师、许俊老师、廖兆慧老师、王婷老师、余慧敏老师，胡雅文老师作为本次演讲比赛决赛的评委,，决赛时所有参赛者都表现出超常的发挥，比赛也进行的异常的激烈，在评委老师的严格评判下，最后共有十名同学获奖，一等奖一名邢垒；二等奖二名代雪梅、田伟；三等奖三名陈筱婷、梁帅、秦毛玲；优秀奖四名邓燕玲、张志晨、聂德龙、杨冲。此次活动旨在提高全院同学英语口语，使同学积累更多的演讲的经验。
此次活动虽然整体看起来是成功的，但是也有存在许多不足的地方，首先作为本次活动的策划人及负责人，我有许多问题没考虑到，例如；决赛的比赛形式难度过大及比赛时给参赛者准备的时间不足，导致许多参赛者上台比赛产生慌场的现象和导致许多参赛者没法完全发挥出来，给比赛带来许多的不便，还有就是决赛前的准备工作做得很伧促，导致比赛延迟了十分钟的。但是在全体协会的成员共同努力下比赛还是顺利进行了，此次活动有不足也有完美之处，通过本次比赛使我们学会了很多，也明白了许多。希望下一次能把第八届搞得更好。

My family was rather poor when i was in my childhood. we didn't have our own house and had to live in a shabby， small room rented from my father's factory. the room was so small that there was little space for people to walk. i didn't have my own bed and had to sleep with my parents. this is terrible both for my parents and me.
But father made this all different!he works very hard on his own business, now we have our own 2 housese,surly,i have my own he take our family so much happiness, richer and richer.
When i was little, i did everything with my dad. you could always find me sitting on his knee or walking and doing everything with him. every night he would read me a bed time story and make the voices of each character.
I learnt a lot from my daddy. i learnt to never take things to seriously and to always smile.
Like many other fathers, my dad and i also has generation gap. he is not good at or even can’t work the computer. so when i sitting at the computer desk,he will say something like ‘you should pay more attention to your study’， ‘don’t waste time on the computer games’ , ‘it will be bad for your eyes’ and so on. how can i- a computer fan – reduce time on computer? so i continue studying and playing on it
Years pasted, my father is over 45 now. it is time for me to look after him and i am sure i will do and we will live an even better life. and i will say,i really love you dad,cause you are the hero in my mind.

It is easy to describe success in terms of money, fame and reputation. But I believe that success is not external. I believe that success comes from within. My definition of success is to be true to yourself, and be true to others. That means, that you must cherish your personal ideal even in the face of adversity. These people are reclusive and had their emotions hidden within them. I once went to Australia and I saw two pictures, Once was drawn by a normal child, the other was drawn by a child with social inhibitions. The picture drawn by the normal child was simple and plain. The other was life'like, full of details and imagination. What this shows is that these are ideas, emotions and feelings that are locked internally in these children.
My ideal is to be the key, spreading the beauty of the spoken words to these children. These children have been neglected, but I feel that I can and should help these children to find themselves and be able to express themselves.
I realize that this is a difficult task, and there are many obstacles on the way. But I believe in my ideals and I will stick to them''even in the face of adversity. 一、英语即兴演讲
即兴演讲，是在事先并没有做任何准备的情况下，自发或被要求立即进行的当众演讲，是一种不凭借文稿来表情达意的口语交际活动。英语即兴演讲的成功与否主要取决于以下几个方面：
1、演讲者知识储备及心理素质
演讲者平时要注意广泛阅读，扩大知识面，同时，加强心理素质的准备，加强思想道德、情感信心等各方面的修养。英语即兴演讲对英语能力的要求是比较高的，要求具备较大的词汇量、较强的英语语音和口语能力。
2、快速思维技巧
即兴演讲者必须具有较强的快速思维能力，这实际上就是一个快速创作、打腹稿的过程，具体说来，要经过观察、抓话题、确定观点、通篇构思（形成框架）、确定关键词、组织语言、表达等一系列的思维过程。
即兴演讲的框架可以按照如下模式来展开：时间模式（以历史—现实—未来为线索展开）；以小见大模式（从具体事件入手，最后得出结论）；以大见小模式（从事件的大背景和 大道理入手，揭露事物的实质）；比较模式（对两事物进行对比论述）；总分模式（将事物分成不同方面加以论述）。
3、英语语言方面的要求
在英语的运用方面，要求用词准确、语法正确、语言组织有序、语音语调正确合理、节奏与停顿到位、语言流畅、交际能力强。交际能力强是指在遇到不会的生词时，可以绕过它用不同的方式表达出来。
二、英语即兴演讲训练对英语输出能力的作用
krashen（1981）指出，可理解输入是语言习得的关键，它强调语言输入（i）的意义必须为习得者所理解，同时输入的语言形式或功能应超出现有水平（i+1）。swain（1985）在输入假设的基础上提出了“输出假设”，该假设认为，除了必要的可理解输入外，学习者必须有机会使用所学的语言，这样才有可能达到流利、类似母语者的水平。此外，教师的推动（push）可以促使学生进一步分析目的语的语法、结构以及用法，因而能产生超越目前语言能力（i）的效果，即“i+1”的输出，也就是可理解输出。英语即兴演讲训练就是一个说写结合的可理解输出过程。
英语即兴演讲训练是在老师的组织引导下进行的。笔者将这个训练放在英语专业精读课的前5分钟。首先由老师给出即兴演讲的题目，然后给学生2-3分钟的准备时间，这期间要求学生仔细审题、确定观点，之后进行框架构思，可以用关键词记录整个演讲的提纲，但不可以用完整的句子。时间一到马上停止，老师随机点名上台演讲。
英语即兴演讲训练实质上是两种输出能力，即说和写的结合。我们直接看到的是学生的口语表达，但在口语表达的背后，隐匿着作文构思的全过程。学生在两三分钟的时间里进行了快速构思训练，这是一个思维非常高效的运转过程，课后学生要马上把提纲扩充成一篇作文，进行笔头输出训练。毕竟即兴演讲的限时性决定了说出来的内容还不那么精细，结构也不太严密，语言也不可能十分准确，所以在经过书面作文之后，学生把要说的话变成文稿，对腹稿进行加工润色，写出来的.演讲稿会比之前的腹稿提升很多。这种先说后写的即兴演讲训练方式锻炼了学生的快速构思能力、快速语言组织能力，英语交际能力。同时，这种即兴演讲的超短时准备和训练为学生提供了一个英语强化输出的环境和场所，同学们还可以从别人那里学到自己所欠缺的思想、语言、自信等等；另外，每个人演讲过后，老师都会对该生的各方面表现进行评价，对语言输出中的问题会着重点评，对写出来的演讲稿老师也会精心批改点评。老师的有力推动更加促进了学生i+1的语言输出能力。
三、结语
英语即兴演讲训练作为一种口笔头并重的语言输出方式，为学生提供了很好的输出平台，在老师的推动下更加促进了学生的语言输出质量。

The concept of success is not constant but relative because the nature of difficulty is also relative. Something you do effortlessly might pose a great difficulty for a handicapped person. In acquiring the ability to do the same as you can, he or she achieve success. That's why we greatly admire Stephen Hawking, because, though confined to a wheel chair, he has contributed greatly to the field of science.
I myself, a rather shy person by nature who easily suffer from stage fright, had to pluck up great courage to take part in a speech contest like this. I could have stayed away and had an easy time of it by not entering the university level I chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. Now here I am. If I come out first, it will be a great success for me. If I come out last-I hope this will not be the case-but if I come out last, I will not call my attempt a failure, but will also celebrate it as a true success, because part of my goal is my own character training-to do more assertive, to be brave in face of difficulties. For me, it is a meaningful step forward, small as it is, in the long journey toward the final success in my life, because I have truly gained by participating.
Let us return to our handsome young prince and the 4-step definition of success. You my have noticed that the usual worldly criteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned as part of the story, but rather, it emphasized the process of overcoming difficulties. The ancient wisdom had already defined the meaning of success, and this is my definition, too.

1. 演讲前的准备
1 善用空间的演讲
所谓空间就是指进行演说的场所范围、演讲者所在之处以及与听众间的距离等等。演说者所在之处以位居听众注意力容易汇集的地方最为理想。例如开会的时候、主席多半位居会议桌的上方、因为该处正是最容易汇集出席者注意力的地方。
反之，如果主席位居会议桌之正中央，则会议的进行情况会变如何呢?恐怕会使出席者注意力散漫了，且有会议冗长不休的感觉?因此，让自己位居听众注意力容易汇集之处，不但能够提升听众对于演讲的关注，甚至具有增强演说者信赖度权威感的效果。
2 演讲应注意的几个问题
2.1 演讲时的姿势
演说时的姿势(posture)也会带给听众某种印象，例如堂堂正正的印象或者畏畏缩缩的印象。虽然个人的性格与平日的习惯对此影响颇巨，不过一般而言仍有方便演讲的姿势，即所谓“轻松的姿势”。要让身体放松，反过来说就是不要过度紧张。过度的紧张不但会表现出笨拙僵硬的姿势，而且对于舌头的动作也会造成不良的影响。
诀窍之一是张开双脚与肩同宽，挺稳整个身躯。另一个诀窍是想办法扩散并减轻施加在身体上的紧张情绪。例如将一只手稍微插入口袋中，或者手触桌边、或者手握麦克风等等。
2.2 演讲时的视线
在大众面前说话，亦即表示必须忍受众目睽睽的注视。当然，并非每位听众都会对你报以善意的眼光。尽管如此，你还是不可以漠视听众的眼光，避开听众的视线来说话。尤其当你走到麦克风旁边站立在大众面前的那一瞬间，来自听众的视线有时甚至会让你觉得刺痛。
克服这股视线压力的秘诀，就是一面进行演讲;一面从听众当中找寻对于自己投以善意而温柔眼光的人。并且无视于那些冷淡的眼光。此外，把自己的视线投向强烈“点头”以示首肯的人，对巩固信心来进行演说也具有效果。
2.3演讲时的脸部表情
演讲时的脸部表情无论好坏都会带给听众极其深刻的印象。紧张、疲劳、喜悦、焦虑、等情绪无不清楚地表露在脸上，这是很难藉由本人的意志来加以控制的。演讲的内容即使再精彩，如果表情总觉缺乏自信，老是畏畏缩缩，演讲就很容易变得欠缺说服力。
控制脸部的方法，首先“不可垂头”。人一旦“垂头”就会予人“丧气”之感，而且若视线不能与听众接触，就难以吸引听众的注意。另一个方法是“缓慢说话”。说话速度一旦缓慢，情绪即可稳定，脸部表情也得以放松,再者，全身上下也能够为之泰然自若起来。
2.4 有关服饰和发型
服装也会带给观众各种印象。尤其是东方男性总是喜欢穿着灰色或者蓝色系列的服装，难免给人过于刻板无趣印象。轻松的场合不妨穿着稍微花俏一点的服装来参加。不过如果是正式的场合，一般来说仍以深色西服、男士无尾晚宴服、以及燕尾服为宜。其次，发型也可塑造出各种形象来。长发和光头各自蕴含其强烈的形象，而鬓角的长短也被认为是个人喜好的表征。站出来演讲之际，你的服装、究竟带给对方何种印象?希望各位好好地思量一番。
2.5 声音和腔调
声音和腔调乃是与生俱来的，不可能一朝一夕之间有所改善。不过音质与措词对于整个演说影响颇巨，这倒是事实。根据某项研究报告指出声音低沉的男性比声音高亢的男性，其信赖度较高。因为声音低沉会让人有种威严沉着的感觉。尽管如此，各位还是不可能马上就改变自己的声音。总之，重要的`是让自己的声音清楚地传达给听众。即使是音质不好的人，如果能够禀持自己的主张与信念的话，依旧可以吸引听众的热切关注。
说话的速度也是演讲的要素。为了营造沉着的气氛，说话稍微慢点是很重要。标准大致为5分钟三张左右的A4原稿，不过，此地要注意的是，倘若从头至尾一直以相同的速度来进行，听众会睡觉的。

能将一场如何学好纯正英语的演讲变得如此生动精彩，想必这个80年代生的小伙子背后一定有很多自己的.故事。当天在后台我就跟jerry说要作他的专访。可是惭愧啊惭愧，这采访一拖就是一年。今个暖冬的第一场大雪后，我们终于约定了采访时间，有机会认识了一个舞台下和教室外的jerry。
坐在对面的jerry虽然身着正装，带了副斯文的眼镜，却丝毫掩饰不了烁烁发光的眼神里透出的一种“新鲜气质”。怎么说呢，那是一种灵气。采访当然是用中文进行的（如果用英文估计我听懂的也就80%）。jerry的国语、英语、甚至连他自己一说都笑得不行的东北土话都说得相当“正宗”。这真是一个语言天才！我想。
我不是一个语言天才
“我其实不是一个语言天才。”jerry坐下来说的第一句话就把我的想法给否决了。
jerry来加拿大才六年多，年少成长的一大段日子都在中国，接受的是典型的中国式敎育。所学的英语大部分只是死记硬背的单词和应试技巧。到了这个陌生的国度，他自己讲的英语别人听不懂，而别人的话他也是一知半解，他感觉好像突然与外界有了隔阂。
尽管在出国前有着雄心壮志，jerry却因为不能与人沟通，浑身纵有使不完的力气也无济于事。于是，他下定决心苦攻英语。“语言根本不是靠天赋的！”jerry又说，“学英语的过程其实是一个自我挑战的艰辛历程。”
当初他并不知从何入手。为了练英语，他想方设法去找当地人聊天，试来试去结果是碰一鼻子灰。他总是先在脑子里用中文想好要说的话，再找到相应的英文单词，然后用所学的语法去套出要讲的英文句子。如此下来，说出去的句子结结巴巴，常常他还没说完，对方早把话抢了过去，语速飞快地又丢过来一大堆话。这样的话他当然听不明白，而“pardon”多了也不是办法，结果对方早已失去了交谈的兴趣，而他自己也信心尽失。
但他不是轻易放弃的人。jerry想，不如试试退回来“闭门造车”练英语。自从有了这种“顿悟”，他开始把自己当作一个牙牙学语的孩子，完全用耳朵去感受纯正的发音，去捕捉一个个单词的开音合音、唇音齿音，去熟悉一个个句子的抑扬顿挫。
jerry说，在开始的大半年里，他发痴似地寻找英语中每一个准确的发音部位，然后一遍遍地模仿。有时为了一个单词的准确发音，要练上一千多遍。他说，这真是个很痛苦的过程。
这期间，他做了很多旁人认为是“crazy”的事情，比如：刻意只看英文电视报纸，不交中国朋友，把电脑装成英文系统，甚至把自己关在房间里大声跟电视主持人练发音等。jerry说，这样做了一段时间的确有了成效，而不只有他可以做到这些事情，任何人都可以，但是有个前提条件，就是：“onlyifyoureallywantto!”
