端午节那天，有些地方的人们挂菖蒲，艾草，据说可以驱除蚊子等害虫。端午节必不可缺的就是包粽子，有糯米粽子，赤豆粽子，还有火腿粽子等等。记得一年端午，我们家自己包粽子，我也参与了一回。可惜技术水平实在不高只好做旁观者了。看着妈妈熟练的动作，心里真是有佩服又羡慕。粽子包好了就可以下水煮，随着开水沸腾而冒出来的水蒸气飘荡在房间，让房间充满了竹叶和糯米特有的清香。馋的我直流口水。粽子一出锅我就迫不及待的想去拿了，妈妈在一旁直笑我是个小馋猫，但还是帮我把粽子剥开，蘸了白糖给我吃。还告诉我，端午节吃粽子的由来，原来是古时候人们为了不让鱼儿吃因为爱国而投江的屈原的尸体，而把粽子扔进了江中。听着妈妈的讲述，我不知不觉又吃了一个粽子，觉得好甜好甜。
几年过去了，人们的生活水平提高了，生活节奏加快了，但端午节吃粽子的习俗还是没有改变，只是现在的粽子都是直接从市场上买来的方便并且选择的品种也多。但是吃着粽子总是怀念那一年满屋子的清香……

在这一天，人们还会插艾叶、赛龙舟。端午节真是个充满神奇、充满喜悦、充满热闹的节日。
